Currently working on the fabrication of antibacterial photodynamic therapy (aPDT) wound dressing for chronic wounds using chitosan-porphyrin composite as photosensitizers. This research addresses a global healthcare challenge by proposing a cost-effective, light-activated antimicrobial wound dressing, tailored for low-resource settings, especially in Sub-Saharan Africa. It builds on promising preliminary data and draws from my background in inorganic chemistry, porphyrin-based chemistry, and interdisciplinary research collaborations.
